THE woman whose evidence put her mass- murderer ex boyfriend Jeremy Bamber behind bars fears reprisals against her family if his appeal is successful.
Julie Mugford, 36, has set up a new life in Canada, married and had children since the trial in 1986 which sentenced Bamber to life in prison for the murder of five members of his family massacre at a farm house in Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex.
From their new home, husband Glen, 40, said: "Julie just wishes we could get on with our lives. We just can't believe this man could be freed.
"We hope it never happens. We are worried about our kids, that's our main concern."
As the star prosecution witness in the original trial, Julie fears she could be called to give evidence at the appeal.
Meanwhile Bamber, 39, faces a prison governor's probe after making comments protesting his innocence in an interview.
